sunday stealing: 90 part 1

from here.

1. What was the highlight of your week?
well, the whole week was a highlight as it’s the first week of summer break. 🙂 although i did something workish every single day–monday was an all-day meeting (8 hrs) with the new grade level and i had to present. it went rather well, although i can already see tensions between some members, and i wonder if next year will be better after all, as everyone has been telling me in their attempts to get me to stay. tuesday i got my whole room cleaned and the rollable furniture moved over to the side (sorry, custodians, but i just can’t move everything with my weak muscles), and i was able to check out. yay! and then it was a workshop wednesday to friday, which was interesting but also a bit upsetting when you realize how much you have to change and how stupid they think we are. yesterday was just a relaxing day with lots of youtubing. 😛 so i don’t know. it’s just nice when you don’t have to deal with troublesome parents. if only it could always be this way, i wouldn’t have so much stress!

2. Whose car were you in last?
my own. if i have to choose someone’s else car, then it was a colleague’s car, last month. we were at a training and had an hour for lunch (unheard of!) so decided to for once go out to eat somewhere, and one colleague offered to drive, so i rode with her. we just went to a local steak place for cheap take out and went back to the training and ate at our tables, but it was just nice to be able to 1) have time to go out and 2) go somewhere for real food, rather than trying to stave off the growling tummy with crackers you have hidden in your purse. that’s a luxury we just don’t have.

3. When is the next time you will kiss someone?
🙂

4. What color shirt are you wearing?
dark blue.

5. How long is your hair?
it is nearly to my knees, but i’m getting it cut this summer! shoulder-length, i think.

6. Are you good looking?
no.

7. Last movie you watched?
grease. my sister and i wanted our niece to see what we were so obsessed about when we were younger so she found it on netflix. my sister and i recited dialogue and sang the songs throughout the movie. it was fun.

8. Who were you with?
my sister and her family, my mom, and my son. but the only ones who were really watching was my sister, her husband, my niece, and me. the rest were around, but not actively watching, just randomly doing other things, even though we were all in the same room.

9. Last thing you ate?
kalua pig and cabbage. or more like cabbage and kalua pig, in the style of the “cheese & macaroni” commercials. i put in waaaaaay more cabbage than kalua pig–i love cooked cabbage.

10. Last thing you drank?
water. 🙂 it’s all i ever drink.

11. When was the last time you had your heart broken?
relationshipwise, years and years ago. i’ve had disappointments since then, though.
otherwise, it’s been a week? maybe two…since i found out that one of the best colleagues i’ve ever had the pleasure of working with lost her years-long battle with breast cancer. that was just awful. 😦 my heart ached so much.

12. Who came over last?
my sister.

13. Are you happy right now?
sure.

14. What did you say last?
out loud? “good night.”

15. Where is your phone?
it’s over on the bedside table.

16. What color are your eyes?
brown.

17. Are you left-handed?
no.

18. Spell your name without vowels:
my name is more vowels than consonants.

19. Do you have any pets?
yes.

20. Favorite Vacation?
our kaua’i trip was pretty nice. i liked our hilo and maui trips, too, but not the scary driving i had to do there.

21. What do you dislike currently?
mandates.

22. What are you listening to?
it’s nice and quiet now in the early hours of the morning. all i hear is the fan. but what i hear in my head is “stay” by lisa loeb.

23. If you could have one thing right now what would it be?
a ten-million dollar tax-free check.

24. What is your favorite scent?
jasmine.

25. Who makes you happiest?
my family.

26. What were you doing at midnight last night?
i was watching house and playing 2048 during the bloody parts.

27. When is your birthday?
september.

28. Who has the same phone as you?
a whole bunch of people, i’d imagine.

29. Last time you went swimming in a pool?
it’s been a few years.

  1. It really just takes only one parent to ruin it for the others too.

    • it really does 😦

  2. I’m a September baby and just watched Grease, too!!

    • yay september babies!! 🙂

  3. I love cooked cabbage, too. I usually have it with ham or corned beef, though. I’d be willing to try it your way, though. It sounds yummy!

    • ooh i love corned beef and cabbage! yum!

  4. One of my dear colleague friends is battling breast cancer, too. What a horrible disease.

    • i’m sorry 😦 it sure is.

  5. So sorry to hear about your colleague. Wow, your hair is really long! I had a french teacher in high school that had hair that long. She almost always wore it in a bun because it would get caught in her desk chair otherwise. I can only remember her wearing it down a couple times.

    • yeah i have to wear mine in a bun because it gets caught in the chair as well! and sometimes i sit on it and don’t give enough room so it tilts my head back. but it’s time for a trim. i always donate, so let it grow out about 3-4 years in between cuts. last time i didn’t cut it as short, so now it’s too long. but i was waiting for summer to do it 🙂
