friday 5: june

from here.

Oh my goodness! You have to run out the door right now and you haven’t eaten! Before dashing out, what do you grab to wolf down on your way?
well, i usually don’t eat breakfast, nor do i have any snacks in the house, so i’d guess nothing? i can eat later.

What’s a popular breakfast you dislike?
bacon. bleah.

You’re going out for breakfast anywhere you want, and someone else is treating! Where do you go and what do you order?
if they have steak, i’m fine. 🙂

What do you have when you need a simple, healthy (or healthy-ish, for those of you who just don’t do healthy!) breakfast?
again, i don’t eat breakfast, which i guess is not healthy. but my body’s used to it, i guess.

You’ve been invited to a breakfast potluck. What are you most likely to bring?
probably like a cinnamon pull or something. crack bread would work, too.

1. What are your movie-snacking habits and preferences?
i don’t snack, actually. so boring, yeah?

2. What are your late-night snacking habits and preferences?
since i don’t have snacks around the house, if i do get hungry in the middle of the night, it’s time to dig out leftovers from dinner earlier. if i don’t have any, it’s just distract-myself-with-something-so-i-forget-i’m-hungry. 🙂

oh! i also like peanut butter. just a big spoonful of peanut butter will tide me over to the morning. in fact, whenever i do this, i usually don’t get hungry all the next day until afternoon. yay for peanut fat!

3. What are your sports-watching snacking habits and preferences?
well, not only don’t i snack, but i don’t really watch sports. when i go to games, i usually just have my water. oh! but one time i went to a volleyball game–my mom just happened to come across some tickets, and although it was a wednesday night, i just HAD to go, because it was that kind of day!–and they had portuguese bean soup at the concession stand!!! yummy! so i got that, but i ended up not being able to eat it because i was just so upset at being screamed at and called all sorts of not-so-nice names by a parent that i really had no appetite. 😦 took a couple of spoonfuls, then gave the rest to my mom. i just was not feeling it. but if they had that again, on a good day, i wouldn’t hesitate to order it. 🙂 ooooh, especially if they have stew! or curry. yum.

4. What are your lonely, rainy afternoon snacking habits and preferences?
i sound so boring, but again, i don’t snack. when i eat, it is a full meal. i guess it has to be, since i normally don’t eat breakfast or lunch! heeee!

5. What’s your favorite carnival/fair snack?
i usually don’t go to carnivals, and if i did, i wouldn’t snack so…yeah. if i had to, i’d probably choose ice cream.

What are your thoughts on “air quotes?”
i think they’re funny, especially when a little kid does it, because you know they are just copying what they’ve seen someone else do.

If you are the sort to flip someone the bird, what were the circumstances surrounding your most recent flip? If you’re not that type, have you ever, ever used that gestue?

What’s a gesture you’ve made up, or what’s a gesture made up by (and shared with) your friends or family?
i make up all sorts of gestures for my kids to help them remember stuff. i’m pretty known for them–just show my gesture, and my kids do–i don’t even need to say anything. my sisters and i would tease our cousin (well, more them, than me) with this funny little move he used to do as a kid, and we’ve used it (again, more them, than me) in other contexts as well. in fact, thinking of that right now makes me giggle. we were so off.

Are there any gestures that have specific, unique meanings in your workplace?
yes, well, those are the ones i make up. i guess universal ones are like sticking your hand out straight in front of you to indicate you want a straight line, or a finger in front of your lips to indicate being quiet when we’re walking down the hall. well i guess that last one is not unique.

Have you ever received an anonymous gesture of kindness or affection?
i get hugged all the time, even by kids who are not mine! usually they know someone who is, or they just want to copy when they see mine do. but i guess it’s not anonymous, as i can see them. 😛

When did you take time this week to play?
i take time every evening to play 🙂 it’s a good way to distract me from my thinking.

This past week, what would you have liked to rewind so you could experience it again?
the weekend. i love weekends. 🙂 oh, and my math workshop was not bad, either. i could do those things every day. i love learning. 🙂

What happened this week to give you pause?
lots of things! most recently was yesterday afternoon, when i wanted so bad to speak up against something that i thought was unfair, but it’s a good thing i hesitate before i say things, because i started to think about it and thought, i better not, because that would just make me look like a b in front of everyone else, and i didn’t want to start that kind of relationship when people are trying so hard to mend it.

haha, i probably got that idiom wrong. sorry, i’m too literal.

From what situation this week would you have liked to eject yourself?
meetings. :/

In what situation this week did you cede power to someone else?
i have a REALLY stubborn kid, and so i let another person handle his stubbornness, because she is much more intimidating than i am. 😛
