friday 5: february

yay! the snow came back! 🙂

from here.

What’s something you do more quickly than most people?
well, just because i just experienced it, so it’s fresh in my mind, although i’m sure there are other things, too–but i seem to eat quicker than most people. i guess it’s because i don’t talk while i eat, like my colleagues do. i just sit and eat. i’m listening, and i’ll answer if addressed, but i don’t really “waste time” talking. i just eat. then i sit there awkwardly for the rest of the lunch break because everyone else is still eating, and i’m already done.

What’s something you do more carelessly than most people?
my job, i guess. my grade level is made up of very anal-retentive people that have to have things done a certain way, and everything in its place, and push-push-push. i think i’m more laid-back.

What’s something you do more slowly than most people?
think. again, with the grade level, they don’t think through the possible choices. they make their decisions without fully thinking through everything and barge ahead, and then get all upset when they did it wrong and have to redo things, when i think, if you had just taken the time *beforehand* to think it through, you wouldn’t have gotten yourselves (and me!) in that mess.

What’s something you do more carefully than most people?
well, the above. and i think i’m more careful about others who are around. i think we have become a society of rude people, and i try very hard to be conscientious of others around me, instead of thinking just me-me-me. also, i very carefully park between the two lines of the parking stall, so i’m perfectly in the middle, even if it takes me multiple tries. it drives my sister (and a couple of my exes) crazy, but i need to be in the middle. so i’m very careful about that.

In what contexts are you more patient than most people?
i’m always told by parents that i am a very patient person, to be working with six-year-olds. they never last very long on field trips when they chaperone, and i’m always told i don’t know how you can do this every single day! well, for one, it’s a field trip, and we don’t do it every single day. but, also, i think a lot of what others perceive as “patience” is just really my ol’ stubbornness. 😀

Be honest: what are some rules you have for yourself that don’t really make much sense?
oh, i’m sure there’s a lot, but i can’t really think of anything. the only thing i can think of now is the dress code i have for myself (which differs greatly from my colleagues) might not make sense to others. but it does to me, because i believe in looking professional, whereas my colleagues believe in comfort. so, to me, it makes sense. i can’t think of anything else that doesn’t make sense, even to me, but i’m sure others will quickly point them out! 🙂

What rules of questionable sense did your parents have for you when you were young?
i really don’t know. i didn’t question rules. i obeyed.

What’s a rule most people (if not all people) seem never to obey?
the golden rule. 🙂

There are no rules governing the giving and receiving of Valentine’s Day gifts, but what rules should there be?
that you shouldn’t only do this on that one day, but throughout the year, on random days, whenever you feel like it. not when you are dictated to do it. because, then, what’s the sense of that? oh, yeah, you love me, but only because someone else told you to tell me that. no meaning in it whatsoever.

If the Golden Rule says you should do unto others as you’d have others do unto you, what would the Silver and Bronze rules say?
oh! i guess i have the golden rule above wrong! 😛
the silver should be think before you say, and bronze should be smiles are free to give away so give them away freely. haha! that doesn’t even make sense. oh well.

What is your favorite blanket like?
i love my blanket! it’s blue, and it’s cool and soft on one side and warm and fuzzy on the other. so i can use it on a hot night as well as a cool night. 🙂

What was the last thing you baked?

What television personality gets you most hot and bothered?
tough to choose. i don’t really watch him on tv–more youtube–but i’m a bit swoony for darren criss.

When did you last burn yourself?
surprisingly, i haven’t done that in a while. hmm. my guess would be while cooking.

What are your feelings about hot sauce?
i used to like hot things but i can’t stomach them any more.

When you come home from a long day of whatever it is you do and your brain is totally fried, what therapy do you normally seek?
music 🙂 and mindless games.

Of the myriad of desserts made primarily of fried dough, what is your favorite?
gosh. i don’t eat any fried dough thingies, i don’t think?? i don’t even like doughnuts.

Most fried foods are best right out of the fryer, but what’s a fried food that you enjoy cold?
fried chicken.

What’s the most unusual deep-fried food you’ve ever tried?
hmm. i’m not sure. deep-fried mushrooms? i guess that’s not all that weird if you’re used to tempura.

Where can you get really good French fries?
gosh i haven’t eaten french fries in a loooong time. i tend to like the steak fries better–more mushy in the middle. yum. they used to sell french fries at a bowling alley right next to the bus stop by my school, so every now and then, my friend and i would stop in and get the french fries, which were basically potato wedges (rather than julienne) that were fried. i don’t know what they put on them to make them taste so yummy, but i loved them. but that bowling alley no longer exists, and because i haven’t had a fry in a long time, i can’t really recommend a place for their good fries. sorry!
