Friday5: Advice, Please!

What specific advice would you give to someone moving into your neighborhood?

i guess i would tell them to make sure they mind the house rules because the management is very keen on citing you for every little thing. i would advise that they get approval for any little change they want to make, to make sure it fits with association rules.

What specific advice would you give to someone beginning a job at your workplace (or attending school where you study, or, if you’re neither a student nor employed, doing whatever it is you do with your days)?

well, what i tell anyone starting out is to make sure your routines are in place, and that you stick to them. be consistent. and always ask for help, when you need it. don’t almost drown trying to figure out how to do something when someone else had the life preserver all along to help you. for someone who has already done this for a while and has transferred here, i tell them — i know this is not nice — to just be careful of what you say and who you say it to, because the staff members have at tendency to backstab. but it’s something i wish someone would’ve told me when i got there.

What specific advice would you give to someone who wants to begin an online journal or blog?

i just gave this advice to my sister who wants to try her hand at blogging–just be aware that anyone can read your journal. anyone. so don’t write anything that might get you in trouble, and don’t mention anyone’s real names.

What specific advice would you give to someone who wants to take up a hobby you’re really into?

take your time. and practice often.

What specific advice would you give to someone who wants to marry your closest, unmarried friend?

to make sure that she always feels loved, to always *show* that you love her, rather than just saying it. she adores being pampered and showered with love, so doing things like that would make her very happy, and in turn, make you very happy.
